Java is a simple and yet powerful object oriented programming language. It was developed to provide a platform-independent programming language. You can use Java to write computer applications that crunch numbers, process words, play games, store data or do any of the thousands of other things computer software can do. Though Java shares much of C's syntax, it is not C. Java takes off most of the pains of C, C++ but adds lots of new features like garbage collection, platform indenpendency etc. This course will give you clear and complete understanding in java programming.
Knowing how to program in C or, better yet, C++, will certainly help you to learn Java more quickly. We recommend you to go through the courses C and C++ before starting this course. You don't need to know anything about Object Oriented Programming to start this course.
